WASHINGTON, DC – Area Congressman Lloyd Smucker has proposed legislation called the MUSIC Act to provide aid to entertainment service and support companies which were not allowed access to funding available through the Save Our Stages Act.  Lancaster County is home to several live events companies that play a critical role in fabricating and producing entertainment experiences for artists and theaters nationwide. The companies employ hundreds of Pennsylvanians. As the pandemic put a hold on many live events, service and support companies struggled to stay in business. Congress passed the Save Our Stages Act, but did not include such support companies. The legislation, called the MUSIC Act, will allow live event support companies to access the funds and does not spend any additional taxpayer dollars. Eric Grossman, Chief Business Officer at Lititz, PA-based TAIT Towers said passage of the measure will ensure the viability of the live performance industry. We are the carpenters, welders, painters, engineers, and fabricators who build the amazing live events that the world has missed during COVID. The bill has bipartisan support.
