HARRISBURG (AP) – Gov. Josh Shapiro was joined by his wife, Lori, to speak to the media after the sentencing of Cody Balmer. He talked about how their sense of safety and security was changed by the attack and the difficulty of explaining what happened at their home to their children. Shapiro added they’ve leaned on their faith and the faith and prayers of others to help them get through this time of darkness. Despite what happened, the governor said it will not deter him from continuing his work. The Governor’s Residence is getting security upgrades including an anti-climb fence after a consultant’s security review. The cost of the damage is expected to exceed a million dollars.
