LANCASTER – A Quarryville man is facing sexual assault charges against a minor. On September 23, a victim came to PSP Lancaster to report an incident when she was younger. The victim claimed she was sexually assaulted by Michael Hess when she was seven to eight years old while attending her weekly Awana Bible study class at New Providence Church of God in Providence Township, Lancaster County. On September 25, the 49-year-old Hess was taken into custody and was arraigned. The church was notified after the arrest and has been fully cooperative with the investigation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7. Anyone with information that would further this investigation is asked to contact PSP Trooper Nicholas Reginella at 717-299-7650.
