HARRISBURG – A bipartisan group of 21 state Senators have written a letter to Gov. Tom Wolf appealing for the removal of COVID-related restrictions on PA employers before the start of the Memorial Day weekend. One of the senators, Lancaster County Sen. Scott Martin said moving it ahead to the Friday before Memorial Day would help businesses in their recovery. In the letter, the Senators indicated they were appreciative of the recent announcement of the lifting, but allowing employers to have a full holiday weekend to begin to recoup the losses they suffered during COVID-19 would be a great kick-off to the summerMartin added that he doesn’t see any issue with the science or the data that would prohibit reopening these employers two days earlier. He said there’s going to be a lot of people spending money on Memorial Day weekend and he would like them to be spending that money in Pennsylvania.
