HARRISBURG – A public hearing by the PA Senate Community, Economic, and Recreational Development Committee examined the economic impact of the current workforce shortage in the state. The panel heard testimony on the workforce crisis from a number of small businesses along with the President and CEO of the PA Chamber of Business & Industry. Committee Chairman, Luzerne County Sen. John Yudichak said although there is no simple solution to the issue, a number of legislative proposals have been drafted. Yudichak said he hopes that the testimony received at the hearing generates momentum in dealing with proposed workforce legislation and regulatory changes.
