HARRISBURG – The PA Senate Communications and Technology Committee passed Senate Bill 1368 which would ban nudification applications from being developed, operated, or made available in PA, including through online application marketplaces. Through artificial intelligence, persons can take an image of another individual and manipulate the image to generate a fake nude or sexually explicit photo of that person. Bill sponsor, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick of Berks & Montgomery Counties says she’s heard from families in her district and throughout PA who have experienced the real-world consequences of this technology. These applications serve no legitimate purpose and should not be available. For children and young people, the consequences can be devastating.
