HARRISBURG – Two state Senate committees – Transportation and Labor and Industry Committees – held a public hearing on the PA Turnpike’s sudden dismissal of hundreds of employees. Lawmakers expressed frustration with the Turnpike Commission due to the sudden decision that cost nearly 500 toll takers their jobs. PA Turnpike CEO Mark Compton testified that this is an unprecedented time and that there were several reasons for the sudden action including massive revenue losses and the safety of customers.
