LANCASTER – Sen. Scott Martin of Lancaster & Berks Counties will be hosting a Senior Expo with over 50 exhibitors available to offer information on programs and services for older residents. The free public event will be held August 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Farm and Home Center at 1383 Arcadia Road in Lancaster. State, county, and local agencies will be on hand to provide information on a variety of benefits for older Pennsylvanians, including health and wellness, assistive technologies, consumer protection, income tax assistance, veteran benefits, utility assistance, and more. Free health screenings, door prizes, and light refreshments will also be available. The American Red Cross will also host a blood drive at the event from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. by appointment. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling Martin’s office at 717-397-1309. A new feature will be a special Hall of Heroes exhibit on display to highlight the service of the region’s hometown military veterans and active-duty military heroes. Family and friends of local veterans (living or deceased) and military personnel can submit their loved one’s name, photo, years of service, and branch of service to be included in the exhibit by clicking on the banner below. RSVPs are not required to attend the expo, but are appreciated.
