CARLISLE – Police in Cumberland County are searching or a male suspect who used fake money. Shortly after 12 a.m. today, officers were called to the Carroll Mart at 330 N. Hanover Street in Carlisle Borough, for fraudulent money that was provided for payment. On December 25th at 7 p.m., a white male wearing a gray hoodie and khaki pants entered the store and provided a $100 bill for payment on a $7.50 transaction. The male was provided change back in cash. At the end of the business day, employees were alerted to the bill being fraudulent. Video surveillance showed that the male also conducted the same fraud at Pizza Boli’s two minutes prior. The unidentified male arrived in a gray Ford Expedition. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect and his vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Carlisle Borough Police at 717-243-5252. Local businesses that were open on Christmas are asked to check their $100 bills to see if they were victimized by this suspect.
