LANCASTER – The Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas is now accepting applications from interested persons for the position of Lancaster County Commissioner. The position is open due to the forthcoming vacancy caused by the resignation of Democrat Commissioner Craig Lehman which will be effective January 7, 2022. The position will be filled by appointment pursuant to Section 501 of the County Code and be for the balance of Commissioner Lehman’s unexpired term which ends January 1, 2024. Interested applicants must be registered electors of Lancaster County and members of the Democratic Party. Applications will not be accepted after 3 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022. No telephone calls or e-mails will be accepted. The Board of Judges will review the applications submitted and determine which candidates will be interviewed. Public interviews will occur on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom A. Thereafter, the Board of Judges will meet and will determine the successful candidate by vote.
