BOONE, NC – Samaritan’s Purse is responding to growing needs in Eastern Europe as fighting continues in Ukraine. Samaritan’s Purse has deployed disaster response specialists to Poland and Romania. These teams are conducting rapid needs assessments to determine how to meet emergency needs. Each advance team includes a medical staff member who will work to identify if there are any health needs that are unable to be met by the local healthcare system. Samaritan’s Purse has also prepared an Emergency Field Hospital for overseas shipment in the event that it is needed. The United Nations reports that more than 300,000 refugees, primarily women and children, have already left Ukraine seeking shelter in nearby nations.
