LANCASTER – The Lancaster Salvation Army has kicked off their annual Red Kettle Campaign, the largest annual fundraising event for the non-profit organization. With a goal of $165,000 for this year’s campaign, it will be one that will need as much community support as ever. Commanding Officer, Major Dean Satterlee said they are preparing to serve over 6,000 individuals from the greater Lancaster area with food, toys, and winter wear. Donations received through the annual Christmas kettle campaign help to make this and yearlong Salvation Army programs possible. The Red Kettle Campaign officially begins today and ends Thursday, December 24. For more information, contact the Lancaster Salvation Army at 717-397-7565.
