HARRISBURG – PennDOT has scheduled for the removal of the old Centerville Road bridge spanning Route 30 in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. Weather permitting, bridge demolition will be performed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. tonight through Thursday, December 14. There will be nighttime lane restrictions and intermittent stoppages on Route 30. There will be single lane restrictions in both the eastbound and westbound directions of Route 30, as well as rolling stops of up to 15 minutes so the contractor can remove the spans across the highway. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane on Centerville Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14. Flaggers will provide traffic control. Demolition will continue the nights of Monday, December 18, through Thursday, December 21. Delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. The work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project.
