HARRISBURG – September would be designated as “Recovery Month” in PA under a resolution introduced by Washington County Sen. Camera Bartolotta. She has sponsored the resolution annually to raise awareness and understanding of mental illness and substance abuse disorders. The number of people receiving treatment for a substance abuse disorder has increased by 12% over the past five years. Sen. Bartolotta added that the COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the unique challenges for those with substance use disorders and recovery.
