LANCASTER COUNTY – Police arrested a registered sex offender from Florida here in Lancaster County. On August 24 at 1 a.m., police were patrolling the 100 block of Willow Valley Square. During a routine check of closed businesses, the officer came across a male individual, dressed in women’s clothing, standing near a U-Haul vehicle in a parking lot. Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, the officer discovered it was reported stolen from Green Cove Springs, Florida. The officer made contact with the individual, who produced a Florida ID card, and was identified as 47-year-old Charles Ressler. Ressler admitted to currently residing in the Willow Street area. He was taken into custody for receiving stolen property, and a subsequent search of the U-Haul revealed possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Ressler was processed at the West Lampeter Township Police Department and then transported to Lancaster County Prison, where he awaits his preliminary arraignment.
