HARRISBURG – Legislation that would address motorcycle processions in PA will be introduced by Mercer County Sen. Michele Brooks. The proposal would allow for organized motorcycle processions giving them the same rights on roadways as funeral processions. In order to qualify for protections, processions must have no fewer than 10 motorcycle drivers, not including the lead or trailing motorcycle, take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and sunset, be sponsored by a corporation or a non-profit organization, and be conducted for a charitable purpose. The legislation would also impose certain safety measures to ensure that the group is able to travel together safely. The Brooks measure will soon be assigned to a state Senate Committee for consideration.
