PENNSYLVANIA (AP) – The presidential campaign was back in PA over the weekend. Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump made a stop in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. Trump hammered Harris on the economy and commented that her latest proposal on price controls is like measures taken by communist nations. Trump said price controls on groceries would lead to food shortages, rationing, and hunger. He asked why she hadn’t worked to solve high prices when she and Biden were sworn into office in 2021. Trump is scheduled to talk about the economy and energy in York today at Precision Custom Components at 500 Lincoln Street. He is scheduled to speak around 3 p.m.

Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris embarked on a bus tour in southwestern PA on Sunday before arriving in Chicago for her party’s political convention today. She visited local volunteers making phone calls at a campaign office in the borough of Rochester in Beaver County. While speaking to a group of supporters and volunteers outside the campaign office, she spoke about strength and leadership. She appeared to make a veiled reference to former President Trump by saying the “real and true measure of a strength of a leader is based on who you lift up,” rather than who they beat down. The bus tour marks Harris’ eighth trip to PA this year and her second this month
