HARRISBURG – Legislation to help more Pennsylvanians reduce prescription drug costs is being introduced. House Bill 833 would direct the PA Department of Health to study the potential savings of importing less expensive medicines from Canada. It would also design a potential prescription drug importation program in PA when the study demonstrates significant cost savings for consumers. Supporters of the bill say they can potentially save the state and consumers millions of dollars by preparing the state to effectively implement a prescription drug importation program. House Bill 833 is before the state House Health Committee.
