DAUPHIN COUNTY – Dauphin County authorities are on the scene of a standoff. Yesterday afternoon, several 911 calls reported the sound of gunfire from the area surrounding the 5300 block of Manayunk Road in Lower Paxton Township. Lower Paxton Township Police and EMS were dispatched to the scene. Immediate information released to first responders was that a female victim had a gunshot wound. She was rushed to an area hospital. The subject who committed the shooting remained inside. Lower Paxton Police, assisted by Susquehanna Township, Swatara Township and Dauphin County’s Crisis Response Team established a perimeter around the suspect’s location. Currently, the subject is still barricaded with an older woman and a child. The Dauphin County Crisis Response Team remains on scene working towards a peaceful surrender.
