CLAY TOWNSHIP – A Lancaster County police officer was assaulted during a domestic dispute in Clay Township. It happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday when a Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Officer responded to Snyder Lane and found a man engaged in an active fight assaulting several women on the porch of a residence. The officer intervened and was assaulted by the man, who attempted to choke and kick the officer. The man was partially handcuffed only on one wrist during the struggle. The man broke free and began using the handcuffed arm to assault the officer and struck him at least twice in the face. The officer then used a taser and the man rolled onto his back and began to kick at the officer. A second deployment followed and the man was taken into custody. Multiple charges are pending. Both the officer and the male suspect suffered minor injuries.
