LANCASTER COUNTY — The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department is reminding drivers that enforcement of Pennsylvania’s handheld cell phone ban, known as Paul Miller’s Law, is now in effect.
Law enforcement officers will now issue citations to motorists observed using handheld cell phones while operating a vehicle.
Officials say the law is intended to curb distracted driving and improve roadway safety across the state.
Police are urging drivers to adjust their habits ahead of enforcement, emphasizing that even brief phone use behind the wheel can increase the risk of crashes.
“Put your phone away and keep your eyes on the road,” the department said in its announcement, adding that roadway safety is a shared responsibility.
