HARRISBURG – Winners were announced of a statewide Student Financial Literacy Competition held by Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, the PA Auditor General’s Office, and Members 1st Federal Credit Union. The competition was open to students across PA in grades 9-12. The top winners were selected out of 120 entrants who made submissions on the theme, “What Does Financial Literacy Mean to Me?” The first place winner was Adaleidy Rojas of Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School in Dauphin County. Second Place went to Rory Gannon of Cedar Cliff High School in Cumberland County. The Third Place winner was Alexis Powell of Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School in Dauphin County. In addition to the cash prize, every student who submitted an entry to the competition will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship when enrolling as a full-time student at Harrisburg University. This was the 12th year of the competition. Monetary prizes were provided by Harrisburg University. No taxpayer funds were used.
