HARRISBURG – Legislation to improve the PA General Assembly’s transparency and public accountability for legislative expenses has passed the House State Government Committee. House Bill 2449 will require such expenses to be provided by the Chief Clerk of the House and the Clerk of the Senate, and for the Legislative Data Processing Center to publish such expenses on its internet website. The bill’s sponsor, York County Rep. Keith Gillespie says citizens have a right to know how their elected representatives are spending their tax dollars. The bill now goes to the full House.
