MANHEIM – PA Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding was joined by industry experts to remind farmers the importance of written biosecurity and continuity of operations plans, and following them strictly, to the overall health and well-being of both their business operations and food security of the nation.  Penn State Extension Poultry Educator, Dr. Gregory Martin said taking time to prepare a plan is essential. Biosecurity means doing everything possible to reduce the chances of an infectious disease being carried onto a farm by people, animals, products, equipment or vehicles. It also means doing everything possible to reduce the chance a disease leaving the farm.
