HARRISBURG – Concealed carry firearms legislation is a step closer to become law in PA. Senate Bill 565 will create a two-tiered system regarding the concealed carrying of firearms for lawful purposes in the state. The first level would no longer require law-abiding citizens to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm. The second level provides citizens with the ability to obtain an optional LTCF permit that is valid throughout PA and would provide for carrying firearms in other states. Jefferson County Sen. Cris Dush is the bill’s prime sponsor. Senate Bill 565 is in position for a state Senate floor vote this fall following approval by the Senate Judiciary Committee in June.
