HARRISBURG – Lawyers for PA are responding in the U.S. Supreme Court to Texas’ effort to overturn the election result in four states for Joe Biden. In a brief filed Thursday, lawyers for PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, are calling it a “seditious abuse” of the courts that rests on conspiracy theories and falsehoods. The suit from the Texas attorney general demands Electoral College votes in PA, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin be invalidated. Meanwhile, the PA House Republican Caucus filed an informational amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court regarding the election lawsuit filed by the State of Texas. The brief outlines the timeline and numerous ways that the process under which the 2020 General Election was conducted in PA in no way reflects the laws as passed by the General Assembly and signed by the governor.
