UNDATED – The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for our nation. The 2021 theme is “Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, & Liberty” based on 2 Corinthians 3:17. The nationwide day of prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman. Today from noon till 2 p.m., a National Day of Prayer Launch will take place at the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. Numerous prayer events are scheduled be held tomorrow in Lancaster, Hanover, Lebanon, Middletown, New Cumberland, New Bloomfield, New Freedom, West Chester, and York.
