UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP – On June 7, 2026, Upper Allen police officers responded to the residential community of Oakwood Avenue for a call of gunshots being fired. Upon arrival the officers were fired upon by a resident within the home. Officers returned fire to stop the action. The armed subject was fatally wounded, and there is no current threat to the public.

Since the incident involved officers discharging their weapons, Cumberland County Attorney General, Sean McCormack has asked the Pennsylvania State Police to assume responsibility for the investigation.
