LANCASTER -A burglary suspect was shot and killed by police in Lancaster after the officers say he pointed a gun at them while coming out of a residence. Officers responded Sunday around 12:10 a.m. to the first block of W. New Street. Upon arrival, police spoke to a resident of the home, who indicated that the intruder was still inside. The intruder exited, confronted officers, and pointed a firearm at them. Officers discharged their firearms, striking the intruder. He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The County Coroner identified the intruder as a juvenile black male. He has not yet been identified. The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office was called to investigate and said that the suspect’s firearm was recovered.
