LANCASTER – The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office says no charges will be filed in a December 29, 2020, incident in Lancaster that resulted in the death of 55-year-old Carlos Lopez-Perez of Lancaster. Lopez-Perez was stabbed after unlawfully entering a home in the first block of South Ann Street. The stabbing occurred after a male resident of the home repeatedly yelled at Lopez-Perez to stay out of his room. The pertinent law, commonly referred to as the Castle Doctrine, provides that deadly force can be used to protect oneself against death or serious bodily injury from an intruder. The D.A. ruled that the male occupant acted in self-defense and was justified in his actions.
