HARRISBURG – Legislation from Dauphin County Rep. Joe Kerwin which updates the PA Milk Marketing Law and better aligns certification timelines and regulatory practices with current industry standards has passed the state House. Under current law, milk testers, weighers, and samplers must renew their certifications every year. House Bill 1006 will make the renewal process occur every two years. The legislation will reduce paperwork and make the process more efficient. House Bill 1006 would also remove outdated fees from 1937. The bill now heads to the PA Senate for consideration.
