ANNAPOLIS, MD (AP) – Maryland’s acting Health Secretary Dennis Schrader says state officials are experiencing “angst” about receiving less than half of their expected second doses of COVID-19 vaccines this week for health care workers. Schrader said during a hearing Monday that Maryland officials believe the discrepancy is due to the transition between presidential administrations in Washington at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Schrader says state officials were on the phone all weekend with the health department. HHS spokesman Bill Hall says federal officials are working closely with state health officials in Maryland to clarify any misunderstanding.
