LANCASTER – A Maryland man charged with attempting to shoot a woman to death on a Lancaster city street will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing. 29-year-old David Porter Jr., of Bowie, MD faces charges of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. Porter is accused of firing a gun twice at the victim as she sat in her vehicle in the first block of Caroline Street in the early morning hours of June 29. The victim told police that Porter approached her shortly after midnight and fired the gun twice. Both rounds struck the driver’s side of the vehicle, though the victim herself was uninjured. Porter remains in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $900,000 bail.
