LANCASTER – A Lancaster County man charged with attempting to shoot a woman to death at an intersection in Columbia will have his case proceed to county court following a preliminary hearing. 30-year-old Skyler Barr of Lancaster Township faces charges of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, two felony firearms offenses, and three counts of criminal mischief. Barr is accused of shooting the victim in the back when he fired a handgun 11 times at the intersection of South Fourth and Cherry Streets in Columbia on July 4. Barr also struck a nearby occupied home in the 300 block of Cherry Street and three vehicles parked in the area. The victim told police Barr shot her as she ran away from him shortly before 3:30 a.m. Police found 11 shell casings at the intersection where the victim was shot. Barr does not have a license to carry a concealed weapon and is not permitted to possess a firearm at all. Barr remains in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
