HARRISBURG – Department of Labor and Industry (L&I) Acting Secretary Jennifer Berrier announced that more than 400,000 people have successfully used Pennsylvania’s new Unemployment Compensation (UC) system, roughly the same number as before its launch on June 8, indicating an overall effective transition. More than 367,000 people filed for weekly benefits and just over 40,000 people have filed new claims with the upgraded system. Berrier says, “We are still investigating feedback we receive and are no longer finding IT issues with our system that are preventing individuals from filing. If individuals are still encountering what they believe to be technical errors, we would like to hear from them so we can look further into what’s happening.”
