HARRISBURG – A legal fight is underway with the GOP-controlled Legislature battling Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf regarding termination of his disaster emergency declaration. State lawmakers approved House Resolution 836 with bipartisan support this week to end the COVID-19 emergency declaration. Wolf says it does no such thing and the declaration remains. House Majority Leader, Lancaster County Rep. Bryan Cutler expects the court to act quickly in order to address the confusion of Pennsylvanians and the frustration of closed businesses. He added that the state Supreme Court ruled earlier this year that the General Assembly has the ability to terminate the order at any time and by ending the declaration now is in the best interest of ensuring the Commonwealth can recover effectively and efficiently.
