HARRISBURG – Two Chester County lawmakers reacted to the announcement that Brandywine and Jennersville Hospitals were going to close. In November, Tower Health announced that both hospitals would be sold to Canyon Atlantic Partners and remain operational. Tower Health’s President & CEO announced Thursday that Canyon Atlantic has been unable to demonstrate an effective transfer of ownership and operation of the two hospitals. Sen. Carolyn Comitta said to learn that the sale will not go through and both hospitals will close feels like a betrayal. By Tower Health raising our hopes and then dashing them just two weeks before Christmas, we have lost precious time. Rep. John Lawrence said Tower was making a hollow promise as they failed to vet the proposed buyer, leaving the community in a lurch weeks before Christmas, and their employees with nothing more than uncertainty and a severance check. Both lawmakers said they hope to find a solution to prevent the closures.
