HARRISBURG – The board of the PA School Employees’ Retirement System or better known as PSERS has elected Lebanon County Rep. Frank Ryan to a second term as its vice chairman. Ryan has been an outspoken member of the General Assembly on the need for pension reform and has sponsored legislation to address funding issues that are plaguing the state’s two public pension systems and threatening PA’s fiscal solvency. A certified public accountant, Ryan was appointed to the PSERS board by former House Speaker Mike Turzai in June of 2019 and reappointed by Speaker Bryan Cutler. In January of 2020, he was named PSERS vice chairman and chairman of its Audit Committee. On the Audit Committee, Ryan is responsible for the system of internal controls that is sorting out issues on the unfunded pension liability.
