LANCASTER – A Lancaster teen charged with opening fire on two people seated in a car will have his case proceed to county court. 16-year-old Edwin Ortiz waived his preliminary hearing on aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a firearm by a minor, and other charges. Ortiz is accused of indiscriminately firing a gun at the victims as they sat in a car in the 500 block of East Strawberry Street in Lancaster on July 7. Neither of the victims were seriously injured. Police found the vehicle had been struck four times. In a separate proceeding, a judge set Ortiz’s bail at $150,000. He remains in the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center in lieu of that amount.
