LANCASTER – The Lancaster Public Library received an unwelcome surprise over the weekend as a backed up sewer pipe flooded the first floor of the Lancaster City branch. The library shared on social media that fortunately the flooding didn’t damage any of the print collections, however, restoration efforts will take some time. They hope to have the library services available, albeit in a limited fashion, again by Monday, March 3rd, with at least some public interaction possible as early as Saturday, March 1st. The library assured patrons that nobody would be assessed any late fines for items overdue during the unforeseen closure, and that exterior dropboxes are still functional and open for the public to use.
