MANHEIM – Police are investigating a tractor trailer accident in Lancaster County. On Monday, November 22 around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Doe Run Road near Cool Spring Road. Police found a tractor-trailer, owned by Kreider Farms and driven by employee James Weaver of Lancaster, was eastbound on Doe Run Road when the truck exited the south side of the roadway. The rig continued about 100 yards through a meadow before coming to an abrupt stop in several feet of mud. With assistance from members of a fire company and other passing motorists, police were able to navigate the muddy terrain and reach Weaver, who was semi-conscious inside the cab. He was removed and transported by EMS to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. There were no other vehicles involved and no other persons injured. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police.
