EPHRATA – An Ephrata man was arrested after attacking a police officer following a home invasion Tuesday evening. An Ephrata Police officer was flagged down Tuesday, Sept. 8 around 6:30 p.m. by a woman who reported a male had just walked in her Ephrata home and tried to assault her. She reported being at her home in the first block of S. Church Street with her children ages 8-13 years-old when the man walked inside and attempted several times to grab her, but she was able to get him out the door. The officer approached the man, who was still on scene, when the man suddenly grabbed the officer and slammed the officer against a vehicle and began an assault. The woman assisted with pulling the man from the officer enabling the suspect to be taken into custody. 27-year-old Matthew Don Bullian was arrested for felony criminal trespass and felony aggravated assault of a police officer.
