LANCASTER COUNTY – Lancaster County authorities arrested a man who refused to allow treatment of an injured child. On August 17, Susquehanna Regional Police responded to the 100 block of Maplewood Lane in East Donegal Township to assist EMS. It was reported that a child was injured and the child’s father was intoxicated, refusing to allow the child to be treated for a suspected serious injury. The father was identified as 38-year-old Gerald Eckert of Maytown. Police arrived on scene and was able to make contact with Eckert and the child that was injured. Eckert was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and for obstruction. He was taken to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment.
