MOUNT JOY TOWNSHIP – Lancaster County authorities say a June 1st fire and explosion at a home in the 100 block of Waldheim Road in Mount Joy Township was a murder-suicide. The bodies of 60-year-old Victoria Preston and 63-year-old David Preston were later discovered inside. Authorities with Northwest Regional Police say the investigation and autopsy results showed Victoria Preston died from toxic levels of fentanyl and other medications and was deceased at the time of the fire. Through the investigation it was discovered that David Preston had control and the ability to increase the medications to Victoria. Investigators say David Preston ignited a flammable substance on and around himself and throughout the home causing the blaze and the explosion.
