LANCASTER COUNTY – Several Lancaster County communities will participate in CROP Hunger Walks to raise funds to provide food for those in their communities. It also supports the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement, and disaster. After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised are returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts. The Solanco CROP Walk takes place tomorrow, October 18 at 9 a.m. at Muddy Run Park with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Persons wanting more information on the Solanco CROP Walk can contact Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren at 717-786-2723. Other Lancaster County CROP Hunger Walks are planned for Lancaster, Elizabethtown, and New Holland on Sunday, October 19 and in Lititz on Sunday, October 26.
