HARRISBURG – Student teachers in PA are being reminded by PHEAA and the PA Department of Education that today is the deadline to apply for the 2026–27 PA Student Teacher Support Program. The program provides $10,000 to eligible student teachers and up to $2,500 to cooperating teachers who mentor student teachers throughout their teaching experience. PHEAA administers the program for the Commonwealth. It’s designed to alleviate the financial strain caused by student teaching requirements and strengthen PA’s teacher workforce. The state budget allocated $40 million for the 2026–27 academic year. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
