HARRISBURG – Four bills were approved in the PA House to ensure taxpayer dollars are not being used fraudulently or misspent. House Bill 2351 increases the penalty for knowing or causing the submission of a fraudulent claim. House Bill 2353 would require agencies to review expenditures and access whether they are susceptible to an improper payment. House Bill 2354 establishes a searchable database that would identify organizations, individuals, and entities not eligible to receive funds from a state agency. House Bill 2355 would require any Medicaid Managed Care Organization to enter into an agreement with the Department of Human Services to allow the department to recoup any Medicaid funds spent on the value of provider preventable conditions. The bills now go to the state Senate.
