HARRISBURG – The Lancaster County Conservation District has been awarded a $5.9 million grant from the PA Department of Environmental Protection 2025 Countywide Action Plan Implementation Grants. The funding is part of $24 million in grants that were awarded across PA to reduce pollution and restore local streams, rivers, and lakes in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Lancaster County Rep. Bryan Cutler said the funding is part of a process started several budgets ago to help clean up and protect the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in PA and this represents a major investment into Lancaster County’s efforts to protect our wildlife. A total of 205 projects will be completed in the next 12-18 months, resulting in an estimated reduction of thousands of pounds of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment.
