HARRISBURG – A measure is before the PA Senate that would require the PA National Guard to assist in both the distribution and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine in the state. House Bill 326, which was approved by the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee, is intended to help address the Commonwealth’s on-going struggles with distribution of the vaccine. Several other states and territories have already begun using the National Guard in their distribution. The bill, which passed the state House unanimously earlier this month, would require the Guard to follow the guidance and augment the work of the PA Department of Health and Human Services.
