LANCASTER – A flood watch has been issued for our region from 2 p.m. today through this evening. Forecasters say very heavy rainfall is expected today from numerous, slow moving thunderstorms. The rain and already wet ground in many locations will cause smaller creeks and streams to flood quickly from excessive runoff. Watch out for flooding in low lying and flood prone locations. Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Make sure you monitor weather forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
